More Coverage For Elderly Approved

More Coverage For Elderly Approved

2.      Category* of Problem/Issue identified in article: Health

3.      Level of problem/issue: Federal

4.      State whether the article is concerning one of the following:
·         An “enacted” policy that has been passed to help with an issue that seniors face.

5.   This is important for the elderly because it covers their expensive treatments. The senior’s retirees are the most benefited, they pay three times less than what they paid before.

 6.   The federal health care law benefits mostly the seniors of our society. This law is also going to benefit greatly the senior’s retiree. Many elderly have trouble finding insurances that cover all their needs because of their diseases such as diabetes. The good thing about this law is that now insurers are obligated to offer insurances that cover most of all the customers’ needs. This law allows millions of Americans to be able to pay premiums. Even families that are low income are expected to be able to afford premiums with the ‘’ Obama Care’’. Also these benefits the seniors who are over 65 because they now can pay three times less than of what they paid before, even with the expensive medical conditions.  Yet those who are already insured see this law as a threat, they worried that their insurance coverage is going to be cut to pay for the insured. This law has more positive benefits than negative which that’s why it was passed. Yet if it skyrockets it’s going to have a negative effect on the government and its going to cost them more at a time when lawmakers are trying to tame the federal budget.  In my opinion this law overall it’s a good one because it helps the elderly with special needs that their treatments are expensive and they cannot afford. Also the pre retirees are the most benefited from this law, so more laws like this should be passed.
