Travis County to pay for prosecutors in Perry & Lehmberg cases

Level: Local
Concerning: A problem/issue that individuals/families face
Category: Taxes
Why is this important/how does this affect individuals/families?: This affects families and individuals because their tax dollars are being used in an irresponsible way. Money that could be used to help families and individuals is being wasted.
My Views: I think it is ridiculous that Travis County taxpayers are paying for the prosecutors in Rosemary Lehmberg case. What is even more ridiculous is that a “pair of special prosecutors” must be brought in to determine whether DA Rosemary Lehmberg’s “post-arrest behavior constituted obstruction”.  The woman, Travis County’s District Attorney, was driving drunk. There is absolutely no excuse for anyone, especially a DA, to be driving under the influence. I personally think that she should have been fired immediately. In addition, her behavior following her arrest was appalling. The fact that individuals living in Travis County are paying for special prosecutors to evaluate her drunken behavior is just absurd. There are an abundance of other, more important issues that the money could be used for.
