Obama Scorns G.O.P.

Category: Health/ Government

Level: National

Concerns: An “enacted” policy that has been passed to help with a problem/issue that individuals/families face

This will affect families/individuals in the matter of government taking control over the health of the citizens and the President backing up his decision.

My Views: I think that Obamacare sounds good because of how the Democrats are putting it and how they are all backing the President on his decision. Even though I do not know a lot about the Affordable Health Act, I believe that there has to be loop holes that the government is not telling us. There has to be a reason for why Republicans are so publicly against it. Yes, some of the richest people in the country are opposed to it but I know people who are not wealthy who are opposed to the changing of the healthcare in America. All I can think about it my friend who lives in Canada, they have universal health care but she says a lot of Canadians come to America because there is cheaper health care and the wait times to be seen by a doctor is excoriating. That is soon going to be the fate of Americans, we hate having to wait in the doctor’s office for thirty minutes none the less be put on a waiting list. Even though the President is making the Act sound like a good thing to America and Republicans are saying something’s about the Act that is unnecessary, I think that it will be the downfall of the health care system in America.

One thing that came to mind when reading this article is that Obama doesn’t want to be seen as a failure. He got so worked up and upon reading the article, he did not have a good tone to his voice, that there is something hidden behind this act and that is why he is so angry it is in  the works by Republicans to shut it down. I think that maybe Obama wants this Act to go into effect because it is another way to get money from Americans other than taxes to try to pay back to the extensive debt America has accumulated.
