Paw prints, the new fingerprints for iPhone 5s users

1.Paw Prints

2.  Category of problem: Security

3. Level of problem: National

4.  A potential policy that is being considered to help a problem facing individuals/families

5. Using your dogs paw print instead of your actual fingerprint can unlock your iPhone 5s and could potentially save you from identity theft

6.  Dog and Cat owners now have an added layer of protection from the government, instead of using your own fingerprint to unlock the new iPhone 5s, you can use your furry friend's paw print. I mean of course you are going to have to get a pet carrier, unless you already have one, for your furry friend to travel around in because they would have to go everywhere with you so you could use your phone. Other than that, it seems like a great idea to have an added level of security to protect you from potential identity thieves and/or having your fingerprint stored in Apples database that they can potentially sell to other agencies. Trading your fingerprint for your best friend's paw print is funny and a good trick to teach your furry companion, but not practical in this day and age with the average American working 40+ hour work weeks.
Apple has said that they would not sell their database for fingerprints to other agencies but how trust worthy is the average person with big corporations? Majority are highly doubtful of a company keeping its word, unless otherwise proven. So, how can an iPhone 5s feel safe when giving sensitive information about themselves, i.e. their fingerprint? I mean does the average iPhone 5s user, say its no big deal and for the ones that do think its a problem use their furry friend's paw print? I feel Apple should address this issue more clearly and detailed to their consumer, to ease their consumer's concern.
