2. Category of problem: Health care
3. Level of problem: National level
4. The article concerns: Young adults who are indeed of health care and informing them of the different types they could choose from.
5. Why is this important to families/individuals OR how does this affect individuals/families?
--The Affordable Health Care Act affects individuals and families in a large way. If they do not have coverage they will get fined. If that is the case, what is the point of not having coverage if you still have to pay a penalty?
6. What are your views on the issue/policy?
--My personal opinion on Obama's Affordable Health Care Act is that it will be a good thing in the long run. They are too many people that do not have coverage and are getting injured. For an individual’s own safety and well-being they should have ample coverage on their health. You just never know what the next day will bring. Young people in this country especially seem to have the mentality that they are invincible. As much as we would like to think that, we are unfortunately not. People get into freak accidents every day. What are young people supposed to do when that happens? Now we have “Obamacare” to help back us up.
One caveat of “Obamacare” that I find interesting is how it calculates how much someone will have to pay in different States. I feel that maybe Republicans or people who are against the act would be more for it if it was the same amount of money across the board. The bronze-level coverage should be one set price for example.
Personally I tend to have to go to the doctor often. I also have a lot of prescriptions that I take daily and one of those prescriptions without insurance is almost $300 a month. I get it for $35 instead. When I eventually have to get off my parents plan and go out on my own I will be glad that I have something like the Affordable Health Care Act to help get great insurance for a low price.
