The budget has been cut

1. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/20/us/politics/house-passes-bill-cutting-40-billion-from-food-stamps.html?_r=0

2. Food stamp budget cuts

3. national

4. An enacted policy that has been passed to help a problem individual/families face.

5. The house passed a bill that cut 3.8 million from the food stamp program. This money kept millioons of americans above the poverty line.

6.Cutting the food stamp budget I feel only makes things more difficult for the American people. I feel the government is putting the needs of Americans aside in an attempt to fix the large fiscal deficit. The fiscal deficit is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed, however I feel taking food out of the mouths of the American people is not the way to go about solving the nation’s problems. If any changes are made I feel the types of food that can be purchased with food stamps should only be whole foods and these foods should come at a discounted rate to those with food stamps. The government, the Republican Party to be specific, I feel always tries to lump people into two categories the “haves” and the “have nots” those who have should not be responsible for the “have nots”, and those without should work harder. Now to an extent I do feel some do rely too heavily on food stamps and do not try to bring themselves out of their finical hardships, but I honestly feel for every one person who does not really need the finical assistance there are 10 others who are in desperate need of help. The only reasonable way I feel to correctly address this issue is to drastically change the qualifications process not just tweak it. I don’t have a definite answer but if something is not done immediately I feel the infer structure of America will come crashing down real soon. If we cannot look to the leaders of our country for rational help who do we turn too.
