1. http://www.mystatesman.com/ap/ap/us/judge-refuses-to-block-new-meat-labeling-rules/nZtqB/

2. Category of Problem/Issue: Meat Industry

3. Level of Problem: National

4. The article concerns:
-Families and individuals who consume meat.

5. Why is this important to individuals/families OR How does it affect individuals/families?
-It is important for these food labeling laws to be in affect because it makes sure consumers are aware of where their meat is coming from and its overall value.

6. What are your views on the issue/problem?
-The way leaders of the food/meat industry are reacting to these food labeling laws is very questionable.  They were very offended by the fact that they had to confess as to where the meat is coming from and where it's slaughtered. This leads me to think that they have something to hide, and that the truth will threaten their business. Everyone deserves the right to know where the food they eat and feed their families with comes from. Saying that enforcing these labeling laws is a violation of the US Constitution is a desperate and pathetic attempt of hiding the truth behind their products. Hopefully, this won't be another situation where major players end up paying their way to getting their way and the American public will have an opportunity to be more aware of where their food is coming from. I recently realized that my bag of farm-raised frozen tilapia is from China, and that makes me uncomfortable. I'm afraid of knowing where my chicken and beef is from...
