5.
Importance/affect on families/individual’s:
This affect families and individuals because it has to do with where and what
type of bags can be used at retailers in the Austin area. Also, with what
retailers will still have bag and which retailers won’t have bags anymore.

My input: Honestly, I don’t think the bag ban
is working because it’s is only in Austin and some places in Austin still give consumers
bags. I think the bag ban is more of a pain the anything. The reason I think
this because a consumer never knows what stores still gives bags and which ones
you have to bring your own bags in. For example, some retailers have a contact
with the city of Austin that allows them to still give out plastic bags or
paper bags and there are some retailers that don’t give out any bags. I don’t think
people would mind the bag ban so much if all the retailers follow the same rules
when it comes to the bag ban. I have seen it so many times where people are
just putting everything back in the cart and taking it out to their cars like
that. When people are doing this most people are just putting loose items in their
cars. I personally, if I go in to a store and forget my bag, the retailer doesn’t
have bags, and I don’t really need the items I won’t buy them. I am sure I am
not the only person that does this so I feel that the bag ban is making retailers
lose money.
