5. This affects individuals and families because of the importance that this Persian style castle has to the beauty and historical value of their city. They do not want to be forced to taint this image in anyway nor do they want this structure to eventually be masked by many other towers.

As the years go by, I feel as if our historical landmarks are becoming less significant to the population. It made me happy to see people fighting to protect something so beautiful and of such historical importance. I believe that the world is putting more importance on convenience and less about the true value of art. The Vistas from Olana is admired by many and creates a feeling that they do not want to lose. Once this tower is built, like other structures, people will not be able to get the same affect and it will taint its beauty. I agree that the need for better police signals and emergency signals is extremely important but with the help of others they could come up with a less detrimental place to put the tower. These environmental activists as well as others help keep the beauty of our world and limit people from destroying such masterpieces for their own gain. I can understand the concern that these towers would continue to be put up to destroy the view that they continue to appreciate. This masterpiece sets an example for people to fight for other causes like the preservation of other meaningful landmarks. I think what these people fought for is inspiring and helps keep our significant historical structures standing today. This type of protesting helps to preserve other artwork and shows that people can make a difference. If no one stood up to fight for keeping things such as the Persian style castle we would be overwhelmed with undesirable technological structures. Our world would eventually become less about beauty and art and more filled with highways and buildings. We need to remember our history and even though it may not mean very much to one person it could have a ton of meaning for someone else.  Acts like National Historic Preservation Act are set in place for this very reason so that our country does not turn into one big mess.
