Job Killer Bill Will Be Vetoed

Job Killer Bill Will Be Vetoed

2.      Category* of Problem/Issue: Economy

3.      Level of problem/issue: State

4.      State whether the article is concerning one of the following:

·         A potential policy that is being considered to help a issue that individuals working in retail.

5.   This Bill is a job killer it would affect many families that are now living check to check. If this bill was passed it would scare away mostly every large retailer that is now considering expanding in Washington.

6.  If this law is passed it would have more negative outcomes than positive. Yes, when we see 12.50 as a minimum wage in retail it’s an attention grabber, because as of now in the retail department they are being paid 8.25 in Washington, other states is 7.25. Yet this law would affect millions of families that are now living check to check. It is believed that the only Wal-mart could afford this high wage, the others are not going to be able to afford it and they may have to take decisions that are going to affect their workers. Also I think that if this law is process Wal-mart is going to lay off many workers and they are going to be more concern of who they hired; more requisites are needed. Also nearly every retailer that is thinking to expand in Washington would not go, if this bill becomes law. So I believed that this law is going to hurt many families instead of its intended purpose of helping families, this bill in my opinion is going to be vetoed.
