goes out to Alexis for having to go through this. As a citizen of San Marcos, I
have had only good experiences with the cops around town and on the square. After
reading this article I looked up the article that had been posted when the incident
had first occurred. I was in awe that this would happen to a girl just walking
down the street along the square a lot like most legal Texas State students do.
I had read that he was suspended with pay while the investigation was under
way. This upset me the most because of the fact that he did this horrible thing
to an innocent girl and basically got a paid vacation for three months during
the investigation. To now know that he has been fired is reassuring and I am
sure once hearing this news that Alexis is relieved as well. Our policemen and
women are there to protect us, and enact the laws. For an officer to act in
this manner towards a citizen is absolutely ridiculous and his end punishment
is deserved but I think there should be more done than a firing. I think that
he deserves jail time. If someone who was not an officer acted in the way they
would for sure be sent directly to jail. I am just in hopes that Alexis will
file a lawsuit against him.
