Concerning: An Enacted Policy affecting families and
individuals
This is important because it will give hope to all of the
other National Parks to open again
My Views: The opening of the Statue of Liberty will bring
hope to all the National Parks across the United States to open once again. All
across the country millions are losing tons of money everyday due to the
government shut down. My most concern about allowing for states to open up
their National Parks by using their own money is what will happen to the
economy of the state with all of the extra spending happening. No one knows
when the shutdown will stop and everything will be once again, but with no end
in sight, this will take a toll on the states. The local businesses that rely
on the tourist industry will love the fact that they are once again open but it
will have lasting effects on the states. They will have to take funds from
other projects because this spending isn’t originally in their budget. I am
hoping that the opening of the Statue of Liberty will act as an experiment to
see if it is feasible for other National Parks to open again.
