Category: police shooting innocent child

This article concerns: Parents who let their children outside with toy guns and police officers who need to start realizing that shooting small children needs to stop.

Why is it important to families or individuals?
Unfortunately this is not the first incident even this week of police shooting and killing a child.  This affects families because it is taking away the children we love away from this earth because they are playing with not even real guns in public.  I understand how fun BB and toy guns are to play with growing up, I did all the time.  But having a toy gun that looks like an AK-47 and allowing that child to play in the streets with it is obviously not a good idea.

My opinion on the subject:
This is so unfortunate that this exact scenario keeps happening in different places across the United States.  I realize that police-men "peace-officers" but what is the point of keeping the peace when often times they are the ones that are taking our peace away?  Obviously it was an accident and I'm sure adrenaline was running high hence the outrageous and unnecessary 7 bullets that were put into the 13 year old.  I just hope that the next time a police pulls his gun on a child whether that person is armed or not, that the police officer has the right of mind to not shoot for the kill.  It would be a different story if it was a grown man wielding a gun and he points it at the officer then he is left with no choice other than to shoot the man.  In schools the teachers are never allowed to lay hands on a student UNLESS the student first lays hands on them.  In that case it is self defense and physical violence is considered lawful.  I think it should be a similar rule for police officers when dealing with children.  That kid had no ill intentions and did not even raise his gun at the officers therefore they had absolutely no right to kill him.
