Now Optional
Article#2 Week 7

2.      Category* of Problem/Issue identified in article: Health
3.      Level of problem/issue: State

4.      This article is concerning the obesity reports problems among students in Massachusetts Schools. These obesity reports to parents are now will be optional only if parent ask for them.

5.      The obesity report to the parents of the child’s is extremely important to aware the parents that their child is in danger of develop even more serious due to obesity. The lack of these reports will affect the obese children because many of them will not start doing something to treat the problem that already exists.

6.      Obesity is a huge problem that is expanding more and more through our country. I think that a lot of the programs for prevent and treat obesity at a federal level can be improved in many ways. These obesity reports are an excellent initiative from the state governments because it report to the parents when their children had a obesity problem and is the right time to treat it and do something about it. I really don’t think this should be optional because maybe a lot of the parents will not have the time or interest in asking for the reports. I also don’t know how this can be prejudicial for students because of bullying. I think this would improve not only the children’s health but also the way obesity is saw among students. Obesity is not something that we should see as unimportant and even more desirable by the person who is experiencing this situation. Children’s must be aware that obesity is a huge actual problem and that is none joke of all of the consequences that can come before. This is the right time to educate children and parents about all of the outcomes that obesity can lead such as cardiovascular diseases which are one of the first causes of dead in America.
