4.State whether the article is concerning one of the following:
A potential policy that is being considered to help a problem/issue that individuals/families face

5.Why this is important to individuals/families? This is important to individuals and families because appropriate punishments are vital for criminal actions in order for individuals to return to a productive part of society.

 6. What are your views on the issue/policy? I think this is an extremely interesting situation and the sentencing that is determined for this boy shouldn’t be treated as strictly a murder case. Although I by no means think that a son killing his father is in any way “acceptable”, I do think that his abusive and hatred filled upbringing compelled the young boy to take such measures. I think that the extremist beliefs of the father led this boy to thinking that murder was an appropriate or even acceptable retaliation towards the abuse his father showed him. I don’t think sentencing the twelve year old boy to a lengthy prison sentence is going to help him become a functioning and productive part of society. I think a rehabilitation center that focuses primarily on teaching acceptable morals, behavior and anger management issues would be most beneficial and could perhaps help this young man to one day live a respectable life of his own without the strict supervision of counselors or therapists. I think that the boy is still young enough that he could change his life around and live a normal life free of violence and such hatred. I do think his behavior needs to be closely monitored in whatever form of punishment is determined appropriate and I don’t think that he should just get off the hook for his extreme actions. If placed in a juvenile facility I think that the hatred shown towards him due to his father’s white supremacy beliefs will only send him down a bad path and the reoccurrence of violence would be more likely.
