Calling for help, no one answers.

1. http://www.chron.com/news/texas/article/Judge-sued-for-returning-teen-to-sex-offender-4881683.php

2. category of problem: government

3. level of problem: local

4. The article concerns: A judge sued for returning teen to sex offender

5. This is important to families and individuals because people rely on the justice system for protection and when the government fails where do they go?

6. I found this article very interesting because the girl had told the judge of what had happened AND the man was a sex offender. He had no right to put her back in that house after what she had told him. The girl should have been put into foster care until they had a clear ruling that it was safe for her to live in that home. The mother was suppose to be notified of the conditions and the where abouts of the girl. The mother should have came forward sooner. who knows how far this would have gone if she didn't contact her mother to tell her of the forced abortion. I just don't understand why a judge would put a minor in the house with a convicted sex offender who has served 10 years in prison. The girl needed help, she had told school officials and the judge and nothing was happening. She counted on someone to speak up about her safety and the people she trusted to help her the most failed her. Her family, school officials, and lastly the judge. This should have not gone this far. Why weren't the school officials doing their part?
