Concerning: An Enacted policy affecting individuals/
families
This is important because the government is supposed to be
regulating this production and is clearly failing
My Views: Upon first reading this, I first was assuming that
this outbreak was caused by the government shutdown, and I learned that is not
so. There has been an outbreak since March of this year and the people who are
supposed to regulate these productions are just now are making the companies
doing something about it. What I am most concerned about it that those parties
became careless in their precautions making hundreds of people sick. My boyfriend
and I got salmonella poisoning this summer, and we both just figured that it
was due to my carelessness, he still thinks that is so after telling Phillip
about this article, but maybe it was partially the company’s fault, who knows.
It is good that the company is following all the orders set by the government
agencies now and is being corporative but how do we know that they will
continue it. They obviously haven’t before.
I also do not believe this is a problem that is arising from the government shutdown and needs to be addressed. I for one do not want to get sick or feel scared to eat the food that companies should be monitoring. It is scary to think that we can get sick because a company does not have proper food regulations. I also believe that this can be potentially fatal to many and should be more of a concern. I have never heard of anyone I know getting salmonella but I am sure it is no fun. I hope that we can get this under control to prevent it from spreading and affecting more individuals.
