This
article concerns: A problem/issue that individuals/families face

Importance/affect
on individuals/families: This affects all the families with children, teachers,
and students at Pickle Elementary School or any school in the area. Having a 4
year old be able to wander off campus without anybody knowing is huge deal and
could affect the school and community in many ways.

My
input: When I came across this article I couldn’t believe what I was reading.
How does a 4 year old just wander off an elementary school campus without
anybody knowing it is happening or had happened. The article said the 4 year old
mostly likely wondered off during outdoor recess while at the playscape area.
The playscape area at this school doesn’t have a fence around it which I believe
is a huge problem. My understanding is that at any school or daycare the
outdoor play area has to have a fence around it. I think the school and the
community need to work together to get a fence up and fast. Also, I think the
teachers need to watch the students better and maybe when the class goes
outside have another adult out there with them for an extra pair of eyes. I
still don’t understand how the teacher didn’t notice the student was gone until
the police put her back the school and lucky the fire department was responding
to another call in the area or who knows what would have happened to this
little girl.
