Selling Health Care Reform

Title: Selling Health Care Reform
Category of problem: Healthcare
Concerning: An enacted problem/issue that individuals/families face
Level of problem: National

Why is this important/how does it affect families/individuals? This affects over half of the American population. Health care is one of the top conversations in everyone’s personal life. Everyone needs health insurance and it needs to be affordable. It also needs to cover the appropriate needs for an individual and their family. Without health insurance, serious medical issues go without treatment and with some cause mass amount of debt.

My views: I think the underlying start of Obamacare/Affordable Care Act was meant well. This allows those who are of low income status to have access to proper health care. However, I also feel that when those people get access, the middle and upper class rates increase causing them to struggle and pushing their status down. Those of low income status also may take advantage and don’t mind staying at a lower class because that means free healthcare for their family. It’s abuse of the system. Now, there is a reform actually paying people to go against the act and obstructing their views by added benefits. This is really how out of control health care has gotten. This article also quotes Clinton saying that it is the law to have healthcare and within a month, those who are uninsured can start getting signed up. I don’t think it is all that easy and I feel they rather be acknowledged by helping out the less fortunate then by making it fair for everyone and actually working toward a better healthcare system for the country as a whole.

  1. Well, I think the health care is a great idea because there are alot of people who are in need of it. I also agree with you Amanda about people taking advantage of it because I have seen people who are well off taking advantage of the food stamps and also WIC knowing that you don't need it and they can very well afford to pay for the stuff with their own money not with food stamps or WIC.I think they will need to have a system or requirement where people who will be receiving it the health care are really in need for it not just trying to take advantage of the system.
