concerns: The dissatisfaction of the residents for the upcoming construction of
a roundabout in the city which they believe it’s unnecessary.

Importance/affect
individuals and families:
Huge impact on resident’s life because of the
fact that the city council is not respecting what the majority of the residents
advocate for. This is important because the individuals expect full
transparency when a project to modify the city is proposed by the city council
such as the roundabout project and in this case many things are being modified
from the proposed project causing many disagreements in the city. Also the construction
of this roundabout affects the resident’s lives in many ways, such as lower
safety for bicyclist, land taken away from families, and the causation of congestion
affecting the local business around the area.
6. Even though
I really think this is a good idea to improve maintain traffic low in the city
when I analyzed the article I definitely put my shoes on the people who live
near the area. From my point of view this roundabout will increase the safety
issues with pedestrians and bicyclist. Since this is a city with student using
their bicycles everywhere I think this will affect Texas State students who
want to save gas and do some extra physical activity. Another thing that I’m
not agree is the land that can be taken under eminent domain from a family who don’t
want to sell their lands because this implicate the removal of historical trees
dating back from 150 years. This roundabout
will not only create more congestion in that specific area but it will affect
the local businesses that are trying each day to success in today’s world. One of the main things I’m agree with is that the
opposition from the residents who don’t want the construction of the roundabout
should be taken into consideration by the city council because that is what the
majority wants and this is a free country where what citizen thinks and
concerns is important.
