  2. Category of problem: Education

  3. Level of problem: Local

 4. The article concerns:  Gang rivalry is becoming a problem in school. It seems that the students are getting streets stuff in school and it is begin to affect the safety of the school while at school.

 5. Why is this important to families/individuals OR how does it affect individuals/families?
It is important to families or individual because school is supposed to be a place  where you send your child to get education and so they can have a better future. The article is saying that gang members are taking the problems that they have in streets and bringing them into  the school. A student by the name of Luis Alonzo Alfaro stabbed  student in the neck who ended up dying, other student was flown by Lifeflight medical helicopter to Memorial Herman – The Texas Medical center for injuries in the abdomen  and two more students are also injured but they are in good condition.

  6. What are your views on the issue/policy?
I think it is really sad situation because school is supposed to be safe for students. It seems now it is not safe anymore for students. My roommate actually graduated from Spring High School at 2011. She said the school always had problems with students been violent with one another but not to this extend. I can say my neighborhood and my middle that I grew up in had that same problem with gang rivalry where some gangs members will get jump their rivalry and leaving them brutally hurt, without really thinking about the consequences nor caring about it.  It is sad because the gangs rivalry are killing  so many young people who have bright future but have been  caught up in the gang lifestyle. They need to start doing something about it. If this keep going on in school both students and parents will be afraid of going to school never knowing what will happen to them.
