Category of problem: Keeping
sick student involved in the classroom
3.
Level of Problem: National
4.
This article concerns: A problem/issues that
individual/families face
5.
Importance/affect on families/individuals: This
affect the individual who is dealing with a long team sickness, their families,
and classmates. It would be allow children with a long time sickness could
still be involved in the day to day task of the classroom using a computer at
home and a robot at school. The child would not miss out on as much, get that
far behind in school, and could still interact with his/her friends.
6.
My input: Having a robot that the student controls
from their house or most times from their hospital beds by using a computer is such
a good idea, I think. The robot would help the children that are physical
unable to be in the classroom due to a long term sickness. I image that it is
hard on any child that have to leave their friends because they are sick again
or need treatment for their sickness and I think this would make it a little
easier on them if they had their own robot to use during this time. Also, by using
a robot it would allow the children to stay in school during his/her treatment,
stay involved, and not fall as far behind as if he/she would if they could not
got to school at all.
