The article concerns:
The issue of the education system in Mexico that is very poor, and the
education reform that the Mexican Senate has passed to improve its poor
performance in schools.
5.
Why is this important to
families/individuals OR how does it affect individuals/families?
This is important
to both families and individuals in these school systems in Mexico because if
their value of education if poor, then they are not being set up for success.
And behind the poor education system, there are teaching positions being sold
and inherited rather than being given to the educated and qualified to enhance
the school system.

What are your views on
the issue/policy?
I think that an educational reform is completely necessary
in Mexico based on their performance and the nonexistent qualifications for
teachers. The fact that there are teaching positions being inherited and bought
is really unfortunate. These teachers in these teaching positions are not
qualified nor do a lot of them have the education to be in a classroom. Many of
the teachers and teachers unions are in uproar because they know that they are
not qualified to be teaching these children. This is having a very negative
effect on the children of Mexico and their futures. If they are not properly
educated, then they will struggle holding and keeping a good paying job and
many may not even strive for furthering their education. It is sad to think
that these teachers are more invested in their well beings and income than
their actual jobs as teaching the future of their country. I am very glad that
someone has finally decided to put an end to this issue, and I hope that the
rest of Mexico realizes that this education reform is what they need to be a successful
country now and in the future.
