Prisoner vs. Ohio

Level: State
Category: Death Penalty
Concerning: A policy that affects families and individuals
This is important because it will affect people on death row for here on forward.
My Views: I am all for the death penalty. We spend more money on the prison system than any other country in the world. So using the death penalty is a good idea in terms of using fewer taxes that law abiding citizens have to pay. My heart does goes out their families that have to come to terms with it the loss.
ON the other side of it, it sounds like lethal injection is painful.  I always thought that it was an instantaneous process of death but finding out they will not be able to breathe but they are still alive sounds utterly terrifying, no wonder he is trying to fight this case. Now using the back-up method the state has in place sounds even worse!  The two step process of death just prolongs the pain and suffering until the final moments.
I question why the doctor wasn’t able to find veins in the first place, does the man have a history of injection in the veins of drugs which will cause him to have basically scared over veins. So in turn, this will not be on the prison to have no other choice of using the backup method to legal injection.
