Ill take minimum wage

1.http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/08/business/10-minimum-wage-proposal-has-obamas-backing.html?hpw&rref=business&_r=0

2. raising minimum wage to 10$

3. national level

4. A potential problem that solves an issues families/individuals face

5. it is important to families and individuals because with the increase it could potantially help families come put a poverty.  Majority of the white house agrees with this action.

6.The raise of minimum wage would greatly help decrease a small percentage of the people in poverty within the US. I most definitely agree that the increase is necessary, however I feel 10 dollars could be rather steep. With the increase of the minimum being that high at local fast food restaurants and other places where the educational experience does not have to exceed a high school diploma, how would that affect higher paying jobs. In order to create fairness I feel the government would also have to raise the wages of those people who do qualify for higher paying jobs that require a college education. I feel like the government is attempting to settle the American people with a dramatic change since the shut down has damaged its credibility. With elections brewing this would possibly restore credibility to the already questionable government. This bill has not be thought through thoroughly and the ripple affect it has. It seems as if politicians do not look at the bigger picture when solving problem to create a rational solution, they do what they feel keep the people quiet. They give a little and take a lot I feel people are blinded by the little they do receive and accept it. I agree the pay should be raised indefinitely, however it must be carefully thought through before raising it.

  1. I am all for the raise of the minimum wage raise. The only thing that questions me is if there is a raise in min. wage will the cost of living rise as well. I know that it is going to rise regardless but will it jump to accommodate the rise in min. wage? Then again, If they do raise it will people feel inclined to do more or will it be OK to earn $10 minimum wage. Some people may feel OK with earning minimum wage. will that make our country more lazy? Other jobs would have to give a raise as well, or would they? They may just leave it as is. Others may feel the need to raise their employees wages to level it out. This would be interesting to see where this goes. just some food for thought
