Kissing Season

Welcomed With Kisses, Stanford Freshmen Risk the ‘Kissing Disease’

Category: College, Flu

Level: National

Concerning: This article concerns an issue/problems individual’s face

Why this is important/how do these affect individuals/families? This article is about the Full Moon on the Quad at Stanford University where upperclassman kisses incoming freshmen and is one of the main reasons of a high flu and mononucleosis rates.

My Views: Being a college student and doing something fun like this is just a reason why many people go to college but seeing as that many people are not safe about it, it just leads to higher rates in diseases being spread and more students not going to class. The university has made steps toward a safer event and tried cancelling it many times but that never goes well. Students should practice safe kissing practices to prevent too spread of diseases and keep other worse diseases from popping up. Use protection and don’t forget your breath mint.
