Concerning: Reinstatement of abortion law leaves few options
This is important because with the growing numbers of children put in the system this abortion law could add more or even worse.
My Views: Abortion is such a touchy subject. I am riding the line when it comes to abortion. Of course, I wouldn't want a child to lose their life because of the parent's carelessness nor would I like for a child to be brought into this world with the mother not wanting it and it ends up in the system. With that being said I do agree with "Minto, who has been performing abortions for 30 years, predicted the women he sees would take dangerous measures in their desperation." Women who may have been raped, or just doesn't want the baby period are going there to terminate their pregnancy. They are being told that the clinic cannot terminate their pregnancy. What are their options? Either carry the baby to term, find another place out of the 5 in texas, or someone take on extreme measures and they might try to end their pregnancy that may result in suicide. "He said he has seen women take various concoctions hoping to end pregnancies. Others have been beaten by boyfriends who pounded their abdomens with bats." This should not be happening. This is really scary to think about. It is just sick how the government infringes on a women's right. If the government would take more steps into preventing pregnancy they wouldn't have to shut down clinics, causing employees to lose their jobs, and women to travel further. Birth Control should be just as available as Tylenol. Women are having to go to the doctor to get prescribed medicine that is very expensive. If they have insurance that cover it, great but if they don't then what? I have gone to the pharmacy to pick up birth control and the pills were over $80 and another method was over $100 for 28 days!! That is a lot of money per month well per 28 days. To be forking over to prevent pregnancy. Then there is always abstinence but come on, not everyone one is going to be abstinent. More sex education in schools would be a great place to start!
