Category of problem: More than one-third of
abortion clinics closing in Texas which prevents many Texas woman from getting
an abortion
3.
Level of Problem: State
4.
This article concerns: A potential policy
that is being considered to help in some peoples values and not to help in
other peoples values a problem/issue that individuals/families face
5.
Importance/affect on families/individuals:
This affect families/individuals because some women will have to drive more one
hundred miles if they want an abortion and some women would not be able to get
an abortion if the county or state has hit their capacity for the year.

My input: First of all I was in shock when I
read that based on 2011 figures, that there were 68,889 abortions performed in
Texas. I am not one for abortion but however, I do believe that everyone has
the right to choice for themselves. I believed that are so many reason why a
women thinks they should get an abortion and who is the state to decide if her
reason is valid or not. I think by cutting funding and shutting so many
abortion clinics down that the state of Texas is only going to suffer in other
area with the two big ones being Medicaid and food stamps. I think a lot of
young people have abortion because they know they made a mistake and are not
ready to have a kid but I am not saying that is right in any way because I am a
firm believer you make a mistake you live with that mistake but once again just
because I believe one way doesn’t mean that everyone has to agree with me. By
not allowing these young women to have abortion I also think that our adoption system
will become fuller with unwanted kids. If this passes what is the state going
to do with women who have abortions because they were raped, tell them sorry
the state is at its capacity so you have to live with raising the man’s child
that raped you. I know there are some women out there that would not be able to
me remind of what happened to them every day and once again that decision is up
to them and only them not the state of Texas. Before Texas does anything for
sure about abortions clinics I think the government should think about everyone
beliefs just not theirs.
