Level of problem: national
Category: Government shutdown
Article concerns: The nation and how it has been affected by the government being shutdown.
How this will have an effect on individuals or families:
The government being shutdown has had a huge impact on both families and individuals of all different economical statuses. This particular article talks about how families have had to alter their vacation plans due to roads being shutdown and national parks being shutdown as well all over the nation.
My opinion on the subject:
It makes complete sense for the national parks to be shutdown simply because it would be unfair to ask the park employees to still come into work even though they are literally not being paid a single dollar. As far as roads being shut down I find that to be a little on the outrageous side. Possibly if there is construction on roads and they are no longer being funded while the shutdown is still in occurence then that could possibly make sense. But I see no reason for roads to be shut down for any other reason simply because the government is "shut down." That should not have an impact on our daily lives as citizens, unfortunately for many governmental employees, it is having as huge effect from a financial standpoint.
