Government Shutdown Consequences!

1. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/02/us/politics/us-government-shutdown.html?ref=politics&_r=1&

2. Category of Problem/Issue: Government

3. Level of Problem: National

4. The article concerns:
-The government shut down and the various it is affecting Americans

5. Why is this important to individuals/families OR How does it affect individuals/families?
-The government shut down has been affecting Americans in various ways. Many government workers are not getting paid during the shut down, parks are closed, and even the FDA will be set back.

6. What are your views on the issue/problem?
-The dispute between the democratic and republican members of congress over Obamacare has caused the government to shut down and the fact that they weren't willing to come to a negotiation is frustrating. Their inability to negotiate (on something that I don't think needs much negotiation) is ridiculous and has affected most Americans in one way or another. Most people in government jobs are not getting paid, except for congress–this infuriates me. Congress' inability to come to a conclusion is the reason we're in a government shut down for a reason, and they should be the last people to deserve getting paid. This all seems like a little vacation for me. Congress has been acting irresponsibly and they are not the ones suffering the consequences.
