2. High School program helping fighting obesity and depression
3. national level
4. An enacted policy that help families and individuals with a problem.
5. This is important to familes and individuals because the COPE program is teaching teenagers how to deal with irrational and negative thoughts. it also provides courses that help build self-esteem, goal setting and healthy lifestyle changes.
6.More programs similar to programs should be required in high
schools across the nation. The benefits
the program provides many benefits the youth of our society and can reduce many
problems associated with this age group. The COPE program has 15 weekly sessions
over the many problem areas that teens deal with on a daily that typically go
over looked. Though all these issues do not directly link with the health of
the individual they do play a big role in one taking preventive steps to ensure
they maintain good health status. The knowledge that that is known should not
be restricted to the select people who decide to attend college. Many health
issues that people tend to face is due to the fact the right steps were not
taken during the early onset of these issues. Obesity , depression, self
esteem, issues are all linked together and all can possibly be prevented if the
proper knowledge are available to kids. I feel we must stop “looking down” on
children as in not being competent to understand that the little decisions they
make could make a major impact on their life. I feel more programs like the
COPE program should be implanted in to recommendations to graduate high school. The techniques and information acquired through
these programs are not disposal and could possibly save many teenagers lives.
Teenagers do not stay teenagers forever and I feel once society realizes that
more informal measures will be seen.
