Importance: San Marcos has passed the Smoking Ban for the City of San Marcos. That includes restaurants and bars.
My Views: I am so happy that this was passed. My friends i am sure are not as happy but i hate coming home smelling awful and i hate most of all the smell of it while it is happening in front of me. It is truly awful. Not only does cigarette smoke smell bad, it is terrible for your health and the ones around you. The people smoking cigarettes are not the only people that are damaged by the smoke, the people around have health issues from it. Every year a number of people who have never smoked a cigarette are diagnosed with lung cancer and the cause is 2nd hand smoke... this TERRIFIES me! So yes, i am very thankful that this was passed for the City of San Marcos, it is a great step to clean it up!
